Archives & Composition
“Archives & Composition” was created by KU PhD student Sarah Polo as a tool for scholars of rhetoric and composition and instructors at the University of Kansas, particularly those teaching first and second-year writing courses. Its chief goal is to make rhet/comp teachers and scholars aware of the range of materials available in archives at or near KU and those available online.
Most importantly, the site contains sample lists of archival materials from locations such as the Kenneth Spencer Research Library at KU. These lists of sample materials, including diaries, student writings, letters, and teacher materials are available under the “Archival Materials” tab. Each list includes the name of the organization housing the item, the collection name, the material type, the author, date, description, interesting notes, and a link to the online finding aid (if available).
